HI-VAC Air Conditioning Service

Hi-VAC is a lifesaver! We were preparing for a dinner party when our AC stopped working due to a clog. After countless calls to different companies, we finally found Hi-VAC. We spoke to Brandon over the phone, who asked us for details about what was going on. He was very transparent about pricing, and we agreed to have him come out as an emergency call. Brandon arrived within the window he gave and got to the root issue quickly. He gave us suggestions on how to keep our AC running smoothly and provided tips. He got the job done efficiently, and he was on his way. Thank you so much, Brandon. We saved their number as we will call them for all our HVAC needs in the future.

Communication:
Operator told me the tech would text me within the hour to confirm a window when he would arrive. I never got a text. The next day I got a surprise call from the tech saying he's 15 minutes away. So they don't do a good job scheduling and giving you a heads up.

Pricing:
They have aggressive/surprise pricing. I knew about the $109 to just come out to the house, which was fine. But then they say "if you want me to look at your unit, it's another $135". So don't be fooled, it's actually $244 for them to come out to the house and review your system. And if you do go ahead with the repair, they don't credit you the $135 charge like I know a lot of other companies do.

Service:
They took apart the outside condenser to test for leaks. When my tenant got home late at night he said the temperature in the house was worse and showed 90 degrees on the thermostat. He went outside and found out that the HiVac tech never plugged back in the power source to the condenser outside! Or if he did, he didn't do it properly.

Needless to say, I won't be using this company again. It's crazy I paid $244 to have a tech come out and make the problem worse.

UPDATE 9/15/2022:
The owner of the company called me personally and apologized for the service and explained this is not typical or what she expects out of her employees. She also resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I have updated my star rating to reflect this.

Our heat didn't work on Christmas and after desperately calling several A/C companies on a holiday weekend, we finally reached one that could provide emergency service on the day of our call: Hi-Vac Air Conditioning Service

The rep, Steve, called when he was on the way to let us know his ETA. He quickly diagnosed the issue. Although he didn't have a replacement part in his truck, he was able to provide an alternate (and potentially better) solution for our furnace.

A rep from Hi-Vac called a few days later to be sure everything was working properly and to see if we were satisfied with the service. We are grateful that Hi-Vac was so responsive when we needed the service and sent a qualified technician to the rescue.

Without Hi-Vac, we were on the verge of freezing and falling out of our chairs like the lizards falling out of the trees :-)

I contacted this company based on reviews and proximity. What I got was a general service contract and a air conditioner team from a Palm Beach company. I said I was interested in air conditioner service and a company I can rely on for regular check ups and service but they tricked me. Ass a new resident of Fort Lauderdale and a senior citizen, this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Called for emergency service and service was provided within the hour. Quality and professional service!

I want to also thank the installers William, Gio and Jose for making the installation friendly and respecting me being a part of the install, your goal to satisfy the customer was above and beyond. I could not be more satisfied with my HI-VAC experience. My house has been starving for proper air conditioning and HI-VAC delivered. Very professional and knowledgeable!

The fan on the outdoor unit went out they came by and fixed it but after he left I noticed the fan wasn't really blowing out the hot air like I was accustomed to but the house was cooling off better. The it didn't. Call someone else and he hooked the wires up backwards and it was blowing the coil rather than sucking air off it. Not recommend at all. They will cost you more in the long run!

Arnoldo (spelling?) was responsive, communicative, patient and helpful in diagnosing & explaining that we have a leak in the refrigerant

Unfortunately, they weren't as prompt with the call for replacing our systems so we have another company out to replace the systems.

Hi-vac came by to service all our air conditioning units.
As usual their technician was very professional and efficient.
We have tried many air conditioning service companies and they are by far the best in South Florida. All the others will try to rip you off and not stand by their product.
Be sure to get a maintenance contract. It is well worth it.
